Not long ago CYT VanPort created a commercial to promote the new Landmark Ford Fiesta, which will air 200+ times in the surrounding Portland area. The contest is being promoted as “The World’s Most Fun Fundraiser”. CYT VanPort is urging CYT National to cast their votes!

CYT VanPort’s Managing Director Bethany Larson said, “The kids all did a great job so keep the voting momentum going up until the deadline of Sept 30th to make sure CYT takes home 1st prize!”

Here are details, in accordance with the Ford website:

1. Voting is open from August 30th through September 30th.
2. Anyone (of any age) can vote once per day.
3. Earn 10 bonus votes by heading out to Landmark Ford & test-driving a Fiesta. Click here for details.
3. Remember to cast your vote!!

What will CYT VanPort gain from your vote you ask? Here is the breakdown:

• 1st place – A $1500 contribution to the group receiving the most votes
• 2nd place – A $1000 contribution to the group receiving the second most votes
• 3rd place – A $500 contribution to to the group receiving the third most votes
• All 21 other participating groups will each receive a $100 contribution

Tomorrow is the start of the Leadership Conference! All CYT high school and middle school students are invited to attend the CYT Improv/HYPE bonfire at South Mission Beach. It is going to be a night to remember, no doubt.

Deatils include:

• Worship by Brad Davis, Nichols Maybury, & Luke Floeter
• Improv Team Introductions
• Time for roasting marshmellows and fellowship

A couple thing we wanted to let you know:

1. If you can carpool do it!
2. Bring a towel, beach chair and something warm for the night time. If you have extras bring to share!
3. If you can come early like around 4:00 we will be filming to enter for the Macy’s Day Parade! So bring a CYT shirt and get ready to dance!

This is the time for all CYT kids who want to pursue excellence and make a difference in this world to come together and fellowship. There is a $1 fee to get a wrist band. Thank you in advance to all who have registered.

CYT is looking for reporters to cover next weeks festivities- Improvathon, the Improv/HYPE bonfire, the HYPE Leadership Conference, the CYT Leadership Conference, and the 30-year Birthday Celebration.

What does it mean to be a “reporter” for CYT? It means your story will be HEARD, SHARED, and TALKED ABOUT! Next week you have the opportunity to:

• Record video (interviews and events) and post to the CYT National YouTube Channel .
• Write your story and submit it to the CYT Blog,
• Take photographs (people and events), AND
• Share your reports to the world by posting all of the above to Facebook and Twitter.

Cassie Bowerman joins workshop leaders Justin Caster, who has performed in the Chicago cast of the hit Broadway Musical “Wicked”, and Chris Rubio, who is on tour with Broadway’s “Stomp”.

Cassie Bowerman has danced for Culture Shock San Diego, a professional hip hop troupe, and has been lucky to perform at Sea World as the Shamu Holiday Host, Rip Tide Dancer, and in the Sesame Street show, as the live character of Jamie!

We are so excited to be hosting the CYT Leadership Conference along with the Improvathon, HYPE, and the 30-year Birthday celebration. We haven’t had the whole nation together since 2007 and are excited to bring the CYT community together in San Diego.

The format for this year’s leadership conference “workshop series” will be a bit different than in the past.  We’re planning to conduct three consecutive panel discussions pertaining to the three pillars (threads) of CYT – the art, the business and the ministry.

Last week, two students from CYT Richmond’s Peter Pan cast were interviewed by their local CBS 6!

Sean Dunavant (Peter Pan) and Camden Cantwell (Captain Hook) were there to discuss the show Peter Pan, which opened last weekend. They chat about fencing, flying, and CYT being a “family affair”.
