Last week CYT Fredericksburg‘s “Dr. Dolittle” was put in the spotlight by Fredericksburg.com.
According to the article,
The costumes, plot and characters typically associated with ‘Dr. Dolittle’ are over-the-top, colorful and animated. CYT’s production is no exception.
CYT alum and co-director of the production, Austin Fitzhugh, was interviewed. He said the show will, “make you smile, laugh and leave you with a feel-good message.”
He also shared his thoughts on the sets/costumes:
“Our set features a mix of an English village, a tropical island and a boat voyage. We also have life-size puppets of a horse, a cow and many other animals. We had a costume designer make over 80 animal costumes that are just beautiful- they are not like the average Halloween costume and are period-appropriate to the 1830s.”
Michael Brennan, who plays “Dr. Dolittle,” said:
“It’s a great time for kids and families. It’s a time to take your mind off everything else and appreciate something truly unique.”
