CYT VanPort Presents The Jungle Book

The Jungle Book is a daring tale of adventure based on Rudyard Kipling’s exotic tale. The story follows a young boy named Mowgli who was raised in the jungles of India by a pack of wolves. There he learns the laws of the jungle from his good friends Baloo the bear and Bagheera the black panther. Throughout his adventures, he meets characters of all shapes and sizes: Kaa the snake, King Louie the leader of the monkeys, Shere Khan the dangerous Bengal Tiger and, of course, the beautiful young girl from the village. Exciting songs, jungle rhythms and intriguing characters make the jungle come alive in a way like never before in this CYT musical adaptation.

Visuals are “Gigantic” for CYT Chicago’s The Jungle Book

CYT Chicago Show Director Bre Mastrodonato chatted with the Daily Herald about their upcoming production of “The Jungle Book,” in an article that appeared online today.

Here’s what she said:

“I think the audience will be surprised at the gigantic visuals we have. It’s a very visual play that has a lot of different makeup and costumes….I was surprised at how quick the kids learn. We can go through the play millions of times because of how fast they grasp it.”

Actor Wyatt Petty was also interviewed, and he explained how he grew out of his shell:

“I used to work backstage until I was convinced to audition for a show, then I was hooked on performing.”
